Dr. Jay Crank

Dr. Crank graduated from the Michigan College of Optometry in 1993. He also obtained his Bachelors in Vision Science from Ferris State University. Dr. Crank has been practicing in Grand Rapids for over 20 years specializing in Primary Care, Ocular Disease and Contact Lenses.

Dr. Crank was founder of Travel EyeCare, a mobile eye clinic serving people with difficult transportation needs. He has volunteered his time with mission trips and at Cherry Street Health Clinic in downtown Grand Rapids. Since 2003, Dr. Crank has been an Adjunct Faculty Professor at the Michigan College of Optometry teaching future Eye Doctors primary eye care and ocular disease. Dr. Crank speaks regularly across the country to the optometric community as a Professional Development Consultant.

His family consists of his wife Tami for 21 years and two daughters Carlie and Lindsey. Dr. Crank resides in Caledonia and his children attend Caledonia schools. He enjoys representing his community through coaching hockey, volunteering at church and serving on local boards.

Dr. Lori Smolinski

Dr. Lori Smolinski is a 2000 graduate of the Michigan College of Optometry and attended Adrian College for her undergraduate work. She discovered a passion for the sub-specialty of Low Vision, which strives to maximize the remaining vision of the visually impaired. Upon licensure, she was hired by the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Grand Rapids, and continues to work there on a part-time basis. Dr. Lori is also an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for MCO and serves on several committees for the Michigan Optometric Association.
Dr. Lori is thrilled to join the staff of Premier Family Eyecare, where her focus will be on contact lenses, computer vision syndrome, and keeping eyes of all ages healthy so they will never need low vision services!
Outside of the office, Dr. Lori enjoys travel, arts & culture, and photography. She lives in Holland with her husband Tom, daughter Abby, and 3-legged wonder-dog Booker.

Kim Carey – Office Administrator

Kim has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Merchandizing, and started her career in 1989 working in the ophthalmic industry. Over this period, Kim has gained valuable experience working in multiple environments which include optician, ophthalmic technician and scribe, surgical counselor and practice manager of a large ophthalmology practice. She is a big asset to Premier Family Eye Care and we are so fortunate to have her leading our team. Kim and her husband live in Caledonia and enjoy traveling around the world.

Jamie Iacovoni

Jamie has been a Certified Optician in Grand Rapids for 23 years, 4 of which she worked as an Ophthalmic Technician.

She enjoys helping you to find that perfect fitting frame that will suit your lifestyle and activities, and fit them with lenses that are perfect for your needs.

Jamie and her husband Joe have been married for 14 years and reside in Caledonia. They have twin daughters Nicolette and Therese and their oldest daughter Veronica. When she is not spending time with family she enjoys interior design and midcentury estate sale shopping.

Lisa Yonker

Lisa Yonker has been working in the optometric industry for the past 11 years. Having worked a myriad of different positions including; receptionist, technician, surgical scheduler, and supervisor.

Lisa’s family consists of her husband, Shaun, of 10 years and their daughter Amelia. In her spare time she enjoys running, biking, and spending time with close friends and family.

Shelly Bailey-Esterley

Shelly has been an ABO Certified Optician since 1982. Shelly has a unique gift of fitting frames to individuals that compliment their features and personality. Her fun loving attitude and wealth of experience have been a great asset to Premier Family Eye Care. When Shelly is not at work, you will find her somewhere in Ludington enjoying northern Michigan lifestyle. Shelly and Lee have been married since 1986 and have 4 beautiful children.

Carlie Crank

Carlie graduated with honors from Caledonia High School in 2016. She is attending Ferris State University in the fall and is going into thePre-Optometry program. She will be learning on the job to help prepare her future as a doctor. Carlie enjoys working with people and has an excellent work ethic.
